Came back from vacation to a green pool? Bought a house with one? In most cases the pool does not need to be drained. It needs the right chemistry, a filter that can keep up, and someone who will come back until it is finished.

How a recovery works

First we test and correct the foundation — pH and alkalinity — because shocking a pool with a pH of 8.2 wastes most of the chlorine you put in. Then the pool gets shocked hard, brushed completely, and the filter is run continuously.

Over the following days we return to re-shock, brush again, clean the filter as it loads up with dead algae, and clear the debris off the bottom. Most pools go green → cloudy blue → clear over three to five days. Severe cases take longer.

A recovery is quoted up front as a flat job based on the pool size and how far gone it is. You know the price before we start.

When draining is actually the answer

Occasionally it is: extreme cyanuric acid levels, calcium hardness far out of range, or a pool that has been standing untreated long enough to be a swamp. We will tell you honestly when draining is cheaper than chemicals — and warn you when it is risky, because an empty pool can pop out of the ground where the water table is high.
